Current Status of REMLAB

So where am I at with REMLAB? First off, as you can see it has been 10 years since I last updated the PHP/AJAX version of REMLAB that I have on SourceForge. This version I have largely abandoned this as the source code for it was a hot mess and needed to be completely rewritten. About 5 years ago, I slowly began to assemble a rewrite of REMLAB entirely in JavaScript. This version I started and stopped a couple of times, going back and rewriting chunks of the code.

As of this writing, the latest version of REMLAB that I have going is still in development and is limited to the original Level 1 (3025) basic construction rules. Admittedly, I have neglected this version for quite a while now. For the most part, REMLAB was meant to be a proof-of-concept web application for me to use as a part of my demo material. I’ve been working on it exclusively in my free time, however, over the last couple of years I have not had as much free time to dedicate to this project as I would like.

With that said I don’t really know where I am going with it. I built it with the intention that I would go back and include the more advanced BattleTech rules, but in all honestly, I haven’t actually played BattleTech in a really, really long time, and as much as I love the game and the lore, I just don’t have a lot of energy or desire to work on it even on a semi-regular basis. The source code for both versions of REMLAB is freely available on GitHub and anyone is welcome to take a crack at it if they wish to expand and improve upon it.

I have a page on this site dedicated to the development history of REMLAB.
